Congratulations to the Class of 2022!

Arthur Smith Advising students in the high school class of 2022 have done a great job!!  To date, they’ve been admitted to 128 different universities (see full list below), succeeding in the face of significant upheaval in their lives, and in the admissions process, over the last two years

I’m very proud of the range of admit offers they received this spring.

The list includes offers from some of the most selective schools in the nation, with multiple acceptances to each of these terrific institutions: Stanford, MIT, Cal Tech, Duke, Cornell, Yale, Princeton, Brown, Columbia, and Penn.

My students were admitted to some of the nation’s best public universities, including Michigan, UC-Berkeley, UCLA, Virginia, Texas, UNC-Chapel Hill, Georgia Tech, Florida, UC-Irvine, UC San Diego, Maryland, Virginia Tech, NC State, Washington, and Wisconsin-Madison.

Some of the country’s most prestigious private colleges and universities are also represented on the list, including Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, Vanderbilt, Rice, Washington University, NYU, Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, Tufts, Boston College, Rochester, Northeastern, Boston University, Ithaca College, Lehigh, Syracuse, and the University of Southern California among many others.

In addition, my students had great offers from a list of outstanding liberal arts colleges that included Bowdoin, Davidson, Vassar, Trinity, Colgate, Hamilton, Wesleyan, Bucknell, Lafayette, and Richmond.

Last year was tough, but this cycle surpassed it with even lower acceptance rates among the most selective colleges and universities. Test optional and test blind polices drove a further increase in applications, which in turn made admissions offers at these schools ever more difficult to achieve.

My students worked hard to craft compelling essays that highlighted their unique attributes and they presented overall applications that helped them stand out in crowded applicant pools. Most importantly, they also did a great job identifying the list of schools that were the right fit for them. Our goal is to chart a path that fits the goals and strengths of each student but the common denominator with this group of seniors was resilience, hard work, and a commitment to their goals!

It was an honor to work with each of them. Congratulations and best wishes to Arthur Smith Advising students in the class of 2022!
