Congratulations to the Class of 2024!

Congratulations Class of 2024!

I’m very proud of Arthur Smith Advising students in the high school Class of 2024!! Aided by skilled and professional mentorship from my fellow counselors Kevin Myles and Eve Glasergreen, our team helped guide our students to impressive admissions offers from more than 200 different colleges and universities for the second year in a row.

Some highlights include offers to the most selective universities in the world, including acceptances to each of these world-renowned institutions: Stanford, Duke, Cornell, Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, Princeton, the University of Chicago, MIT, the University of Oxford, Carnegie Mellon, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, Notre Dame, NYU, Washington University, and the University of Southern California.

Our students were successful with some of the nation’s best public universities, including Michigan, UC-Berkeley, UCLA, UNC-Chapel Hill, Virginia, Texas, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Washington, Florida, Georgia, UC-Irvine, UC San Diego, Maryland, Virginia Tech, the College of William & Mary, NC State, and Wisconsin-Madison.

In addition, many of the most prestigious private colleges and universities in the world are also represented on the list, including Tufts, Emory, the University of Toronto, McGill University, Boston College, Rochester, Northeastern, Boston University, Wake Forest, Ithaca College, Lehigh, Purdue, Syracuse, and Tulane.

Finally, our students were admitted to several terrific liberal arts colleges, including Amherst, Bates, Bucknell, Claremont McKenna, Colby, Colgate, Connecticut College, Emerson, Haverford, Kenyon, Richmond, Vassar, Wesleyan, and Williams.

This was yet another highly competitive admissions cycle. The landscape continues to evolve: a major decision by the Supreme Court of the United States last summer sparked several changes and assessing the strategy necessary to find the best results in a world where institutions offer a mix of test optional, test blind and test required policies continues to be complex.

Our students did a great job standing out by producing essays, resumes and overall applications that emphasized the unique attributes they will bring to their new homes. I’m particularly happy with how well the Class of 2024 identified an array of schools that they were inspired to attend, which is reflected in the diverse group of institutions on this list.

It was an honor to work with each student and their families. It takes quite a bit of resilience to navigate the college admissions process these days, and it was inspiring to watch them embrace our process to develop the initiative and independence necessary to produce great results.

Congratulations and best wishes to Arthur Smith Advising students in the Class of 2024!
